Yamaha has always been known for its classy and sporty bikes at the time and has never disappointed us with their stunning bikes.
As there hasn’t been any word from the officials of Yamaha about any release of a new bike, it was astonishing to every bike enthusiast that Yamaha was found testing its brand new Yamaha XSR 250 on the Yamuna Expressway.
But the model that was seen seems to be in the initial stages of the testing phase but the page of design for the model has been taken out from the book of XSR sports heritage range.
The alloy wheels as that of the FZ25 were seen rolling beneath the bike, and without a second thought, it surely was a treat to the eyes.
The lowest range of the Japanese sports heritage range is The XSR 155 and it seems like the upcoming 250 ccs may be ranged in between The XSR 155 and The XSR 700.
The base of the beast may be provided with the diamond tubular frame instead of the delta box frame that is already installed in R15 V3, XSR 155 and MT15.
The Yamaha MT25 is already on road in foreign countries and the powertrain that is used in it is a twin-cylinder which is a liquid-cooled unit that produces roundabout 36 horsepower but it may not make its way to the Indian markets due to its lack of cost-efficiency.
So, it is expected that Yamaha might use the 250 cc engine which is a single-cylinder and is air or oil-cooled which is used in the FZ25 which creates roughly 20.5 bhp of maximum power and 20 Nm of peak torque.
The engine of the FZ25 is combined with a five-speed transmission, and also with a neo-retro roadster appeal. It is expected that Yamaha will try and deliver more performance in the making of the XSR 250.
The images clicked of the good old beast bring back the memories of the Yamaha from the ’90s and maybe the perfect blend of Retro model and modern performance.
Yamaha XSR 250 also seems to have the following characteristics :
- Relaxing seat
- The Handlebars are upright
- Disc brakes are provided in front as well as the rear wheel
- It has a large Fuel tank
- Relaxing foot-peg position
- Front forks are telescopic
- The rear suspension is mono-shock
- The LCD Instrument cluster (Probably)
And we are hoping to get more details of the model as the testing phase progresses.
Yamaha XSR 250 will be a competition to many other models like Husqvarna Svartpilen 250, Vitpilen 250 and CB350 by honda, KTM 250 by Duke, Royal Enfield 350 cc, and The Jawa 42. And Yamaha’s characteristics of good looks and heavy performance will make this competition healthy and will level up the scales of the competition.

Although the model which is rumoured to be called the XSR 250 may be launched by the festive season this year or maybe even the next year i.e. in 2022. This model will surely be placed above the price range of the FZ25 which currently sits in the range of around 1.50 lakhs but it will compete with the prices of KTM 250 duke which is in the price range of around 1.85 lakhs.
Yamaha XSR 250 will be worth the price that will be put on it as Yamaha never ceases to disappoint the customers and the people. And as far as the headlights of the rumoured XSR 250 go they will be provided in a circular shape to maintain the Retro look on the bike and as Yamaha is forcing LED’s on most of its Headlights nowadays we might see one in this model as well.
To conclude, the Rumoured XSR 250 is a Retro model with a modern performance which may be a part of the sports heritage range series and the price of the bike will be above average but worth it and Yamaha won’t be disappointing the people who are hyped by this model and will provide optimum customer satisfaction as it always has provided.
