Yamaha R15 V4 vs V3 Design & Features

The new Yamaha R15 V4 design is quite aggressive and looks too cool. The 2021 Yamaha R15 takes design inspiration from Yamaha’s super motorcycle, the YZF-R7. The motorcycle gets a completely new front design with a single LED Projector headlight that is flanked by LED DRLs. Additionally, the new 2021 R15 V4 gets a new visor, redesigned fairing, new seats, etc. While Yamaha R15 V3 has a dual LED headlight.

In terms of features, the 2021 Yamaha R15 V4 gets features like a quick shifter, a new instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, segment-first traction control, a gear shift indicator along with Track & Street modes, etc. It also gets a slip & assists clutch on both the new R1 V4 & V3. While Old R15 V3 was used to get a digital instrument cluster with no connectivity features.

Yamaha R15 V4 vs V3 Engine & Performance

2021 Yamaha R15 V4 and R15 M get the same engine that was used to power the R15 V3. However with some minor changes. The motorcycles are powered by a BS6 compliant 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine. That produces max power of 13.5kW(18.4PS) at 10000 rpm and a max torque of 14.2 Nm (1.4 kgfm) at 7,500 rpm.

The power of the new R15 V4 is 0.2 HP less than the R15 V3 while the torque is 0.1 Nm more than the R15 V3. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and these motorcycles get Yamaha’s Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) technology too.
