Yamaha R15 V4 has started road testing- Spied!

For all the sports bike enthusiasts, Yamaha R15 V3 is an entry-level, go-to machine, which is no less than a crowd puller that never ceases to create a buzz in the market. So, the news that is about to be splashed in, is as big as it can get for the R15 fans in the Indian bike segment. Because most awaited next-gen 2022 Yamaha r15 v4 started testing in India.

The most anticipated Yamaha R15 V4 has been finally spotted testing in India for the first time ever. With due credits to the Youtuber Abhinav Bhatt, who had uploaded the spy video indicating the same, which was shot near Ghaziabad, New Delhi, a couple of test mules can be seen wrapped under full camouflage. One of the manufacturing plants of the Japanese brand is situated just 25 kms from where the bike was spotted. How suggestive can it get?

The Looks and Glitz

Something really interesting was brewing in Yamaha’s backyard as two faired motorcycles were spotted testing, but since both were in a move, it was difficult to get a hold of a clear image of its design. Although he managed to get the look of its upright tail section that the bike retains along with the vertically oriented single-pod LED headlights with eyebrows look-alike integrated LED DRLs.

From the small clip-on, we can gauge that the footpegs would be positioned slightly towards the rear and the split seat set up with pillion grab rail acting as winglets flanked on both sides from the current-gen R15 V3.0 remains.

The sports bike continues to feature rear turn indicators & tyre hugger and the exhaust is reminiscent too. With this, the rumoured next-gen model of the Yamaha R15 V4 motorcycle can now be assumed to be in the making which is expected to be launched in India in the coming months.

The current version is already stylish enough, so the new one could be expected with only a few minor changes like new paint schemes and graphics for the bike. It might also come with new colour variants allowing buyers to choose between multi-color combinations.

Engine, Performance & more

The new Yamaha R15 V4 will be equipped with the same 155cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine that would have 6-speed gearbox and would continue using the assistant slipper clutch mechanism. This new machine might squeeze out some extra power of 18.6 PS and torque of 14.1 Nm from its engine and is expected to use the existing telescopic forks & rear mono shocks to keep the cost in check.

This engine gets Variable Valve Actuation (VVA), which optimizes power delivery throughout the rev-range. The brakes are pretty efficient, and the motor of the bike is expected to be updated with a DOHC setup for better refinement. Unlike the current riding ergonomics, which is aggressive, the new model might come with a little relaxed ergonomics that would make the riding experience more comfortable for long distances.

Pricing

Yamaha R15 V4 is expected to be priced with a slight hike of ₹10,000/- in comparison to the current price of V3 which has a starting ex-showroom price tag of ₹ 1.55 Lakhs.
