Yamaha FZ-X likely launches soon – 5 things to know

The Japanese automaker will launch Yamaha FZ-X in India on 18 June. As for highlights bike will have a retro look and will run on 149cc air=cooled, single-cylinder engine. Yamaha FZ X price will be expected to be around Rs. 1.15 lakh.

Engine & Specification

Yamaha FZ X will be powered by 149 cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine that produced max power of 12.4hp at 7,250rpm and max torque of 13.3 Nm at 5,500 rpm mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The wheelbase will be identical to the standard FZ’s at 1330 mm. Expect a single-downtube frame suspended on a telescopic fork and mono-shock. In SPY shots of the bike also confirm 17- inch alloy wheels.

Design & Features

New Yamaha FZ X will be based on the FZ-FI V3 and will share some style and features with the Yamaha XSR 150 to be offered in three color options of Blue, Orange, and Black, boasting of retro styling these include a circular headlamp, blacked-out LEDs, a headlamp bracket, fork gaiters, and a flat seat.

All-new Yamaha FZ X will also get features like a fully digital instrument cluster, upswept exhausts, and a tubular pillion grab rail.
FZ-X will get a more relaxed riding position ideally suited for long highway or daily urban travel.

Yamaha XSR to be offered in three color options of Blue, Orange, and Black. Yamaha FZ-X little bit expensive than Yamaha FZ and FZS. Price of the Yamaha FZ X will be expected at around 1.15 lakh which would be Rs 6000 expensive than FZ and Rs 11000 expensive than FZS.

Expected India launch

After SPY shots and leaked images, the Yamaha FZ X finally seems to be all set for launch. Yamaha Motor has sent out a media invite for June 18 and though it doesn’t explicitly mention it.
