Mahindra Scorpio is set to enter the 4th generation with radical changes like fresh interior & exteriors along with some additional features. This new drive is expected to launch tentatively in June 2022.

The new-gen model has been spotted multiple times, and it seems to be larger and much more premium & muscular than the current version.

It is expected to be available with two engine options – a 2.0L turbo-petrol unit and a 2.2L turbo-diesel unit. It is expected to come in with some new features on the outside (exterior) like projector headlamps, daytime running LED, LED tail lamps, 200mm ground clearance, 17-inch wheels which weren’t earlier a part of Scorpio. It may also house an electric sunroof.

On the interior front too, it will have some new features like leather upholstery, more space for the 2nd-row passengers, rear AC vents, touch screen system, connected car technology, push start/stop, keyless entry, and others. It will also be now equipped with many new safety features that weren’t earlier seen in Scorpio like 6-airbags, ABS+EBD, traction control & ESP, rollover mitigation, hill hold assist, etc.

This new Scorpio will be priced around 14.24 lakhs (on-road) and would be offered with a new monotone & dual-tone treatment. With new features and looks, it sure looks like an interesting buy.

2. Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus

Mahindra’s TUV300 Plus is expected to be re-introduced in India in its new facelifted avatar with its 3-row version as Bolero Neo Plus being launched in the coming months, tentatively by June 2022.

Features like revised bumper with a slightly longer rear overhang, a larger boot, a new front grille, different taillight are expected on the exterior front. Whereas the interior features side-facing seats behind the middle row to accommodate 4 passengers (9-seater), making it more spacious and giving a bigger, longer look. The cabin has cruise control and Thar’s instrument cluster.

Bolero Neo Plus will come with the same 2.2 litre turbo-diesel engine that powered the earlier model, with 120 PS & 280 Nm, mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. Rest it will feature all the necessary elements to make it a perfect SUV for touring.

The base price of this vehicle will be approx. ₹9 lakh ex-showroom. In this budget, Bolero Neo Plus will be the only 9-seater in its segment, making it a value for money purchase.

3. Mahindra eKUV100

With an expected launch date of March 2022, Mahindra eKUV100 will be India’s first micro EV SUV.

eKUV100 will be powered with a 15.9kWh battery pack with an electric motor rated at 54.4PS & 120Nm. It will offer a driving range of 147kms with a top speed of about 80kmph. The eKUV100 will be charged up to 80% in 55 minutes with a fast charger. This makes it a city drive, not quite a long drive ride, given the battery pack of this entry-level EV.

Mahindra eKUV100 will offer a good balance between ride & handling and shall have minor aesthetic changes on the outside in comparison to its earlier KUV100 model. It is expected to be priced for approx. ₹8.25 lakh (ex-showroom).

eKUV100 will be the most affordable electric car on sale with spacious interiors and a good ride.

4. Mahindra eXUV300

An all-electric version of XUV300, eXUV300 is set to launch in India by November 2022, which will be made available in 2 variants- Standard & Extended Range.

The battery pack of eXUV300 will be developed by Mahindra Electric in association with LG Chem, which claims to offer an ARAI- certified range between 300 to 400 kms on a single charge, depending on the variant.

This EV may come equipped with features like a sunroof, dual-zone auto AC, rain-sensing wipers, connected car tech with 7-inch touchscreen, new aero grille, new alloy wheels redesigned front and rear bumpers, new headlamps, and taillights. As for the safety features, the carmaker may include multiple airbags, cornering brake control & ABS with EBD.

This 5-seater could be priced from ₹15 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards.

5. Mahindra XUV700 Hybrid/Plug-in Hybrid

With Mahindra’s next big-ticket launch schedules to happen shortly this year, riding in the popularity is the all-new XUV700 hybrid/ plug-in hybrid which is set to launch during the end of 2022, maybe around Oct/Nov.

We are expected to see an electric powertrain with this model, which will be paired with a 2-litre turbo petrol engine. Whether you wish to drive it solely on EV mode or you wish to switch it to a combined mode with ICE, this model offers you the flexibility of using both. However, it is still not quite sure whether this SUV would be pure EV or plug-in hybrid, but we speculate it to get a mild-hybrid system.

Not much is known about the specs and details for this car, we approximate this wheel to be priced somewhere between ₹15 lakh to ₹22 lakh ex-showroom.
