Design & Features
The 2021 RC 200 is inspired by the band’s MotoGP race machine. The motorcycle has an aggressive design full fairing that makes the bike look bigger, more mature, and sporty than before and also offers optimized wind and weather protection along with enhanced heat management. The addition of a dual-LED headlight with LED DRLs also offers sufficient lighting in dark.
The motorcycle gets a new LED Instrument cluster that looks like the same unit we have seen on the new 250 Duke. Additionally, the fuel tank is a larger 13.7-liters unit, The previous model has a 9.5-liter fuel tank.
Engine & Performance
The 2021 RC 200 comes the same with a 199.5cc liquid-cooled engine. That produces max power of 25 bhp and max torque of 19 Nm. The motor is linked to a 6-speed gearbox. However, there’s a new larger airbox for allowing better airflow whereby making the bike more responsive and torquey. The heating should also be better managed with a new curved radiator.
Specification & Hardware
The 2021 RC 200 is underpinned by a new steel trellis frame with a bolt-on subframe that is 1.5 kg lighter than the previous frame. The motorcycle comes with 43 mm new WP Apex big piston inverted forks with increased 10 mm front wheel travel and a new WP Apex mono-shock for a comfortable ride even over bumpy roads. The motorbike gets a fully adjustable handlebar.
Safety
In terms of safety, the motorcycle gets a new steel frame, new WP Apex front inverted forks suspension, and WP Apex rear mono-shock suspension. The braking duties are taken care of by 320 mm front disc and 230 mm rear disc. The motorcycle gets dual-channel ABS as standard. However, this is Supermoto ABS which means riders can deactivate ABS functionality on the rear wheel for a more spirited riding experience or when you want to slide the rear into a corner.
Price
Rs 2.8 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The motorcycle is available in two color options – Dark Galvano and Silver Metallic. 2021 KTM RC 200 mainly competes against the 2021 Yamaha YZF V4.
