Noteworthy points for Ola’s E-scooter
Ola has been making several promises for the debut model with a list of segment best features, staging as potential e-scooter against the more established rivals in the market.
Ola’s Chairman & Group CEO, Bhavish Aggarwal has been noted saying that with the incredible performance, technology and design along with aggressive pricing, Ola’s e-scooter would help accelerate the transition to sustainable mobility. He added that Ola is proud to lead the charge, given the opportunity and potential India has, to become the world leader in EVs.
Soon after it raised $100 million in long term debt from Bank of Baroda to close the first phase of its factory development, Ola made the announcement. Of the many news stirring up around Ola e-scooter, Ola Future factory is another big news, as the world’s largest electric two-wheeler factory being built on a 500-acre site in Tamil Nadu’s Krishnagiri. It is estimated to spawn 2 million electric two-wheelers every year, with employment of 10,000 people and would adhere to Industry 4.0 standards.
Highlights, Specifications and Features
Ola e-scooter resembles and is inspired from Etergo Appscooter of Dutch startup company that Ola had acquired in 2020. Ola e-scooter claims 0-50% charge in 18 minutes, with a range of across 75kms. While on full charge, the range is expected to be around 150kms.
Although no specifications have been released yet, it is expected to inherit most of it from the Dutch counterpart. It claims to come with ergonomic seating, single telescopic front suspension, app-based key for keyless experience, best in class boot space along with superior cornering ability as well as class leading acceleration, alloy wheels, electronic instrumental panel, cloud connectivity, detachable Lithium-ion battery, etc.
It would have a slim profile with twin headlamp clusters, surrounded by LED DRLs, giving it a unique look. It claims to have fast charging abilities among other features. The riding experience seems to appear as easy with enough ground clearance, even though the rider sits high up, with the most appealing feature being the small size of the vehicle.
Ola is open to colour possibilities as tweeted by Mr. Aggarwal, encouraging the social media users to provide options, with black already being the adopted color, as displayed in the preview picture.

Ola Electric Scooter Models and Colours
Ola Electric Scooter will come with 3 models Series S, S1 and S1 Pro. These variants have not been officially announced by Ola Electric yet. However it is revealed from the trademark. Yes, Ola has recently trademarked 3 names for their first scooter.
Talking about the variants of the scooter then Series S could be the base model. Which will be very affordable and aggressive in price to rival competitors. This will have less features and range than model S1 and S1 Pro. Where S1 will be an intermediary model with neither too feature loaded nor too less to crave for. Now if we talk about the S1 Pro then this could be the most expensive one with all the revolutionary and modern features that no other electric scooters offer in India. Also this may offer super fast charging and the longest range available in all of them.
Recent spy has also revealed that Ola Electric Scooters will come with 3 or more than 3 colours. Caught in camera during Ad shoot of the TVC. Similarly variants of the scooter, colour options have also been kept secret by the company. No official wording about the variants and colours. All the information has been leaked online and from spy shots. Actual details will be only shared by the company soon at the launch event.
Expected launch date and Price
No specific date has been announced by the company yet, but the e-scooter is expected to hit the market in the coming weeks. With a brand-new manufacturing facility and large-scale production levels, the company would be able to aggressively price the e-scooter in the market.
Ola would enter into competition with its rivals namely Ather 450X, TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak Electric, Hero Electric to name a few, on official launch.
With promising features and flexible bookings, Ola Electric Scooter is arguably now only one of the most talked e-scooter which has high expectations to live up to the major social media hype generated for itself.
