New Tata EV Global Debut on 29th April – Tata Motors will be unveiling an electric car on the 29th of this month, So, what do my dear readers and car enthusiasts speculate? Is it an Altroz EV or an updated Nexon EV or Sliq? Read through to find out…
Going big on its electric mobility ambitions with multiple new products in the pipeline, Tata Motors recently took the wraps off the Curvv concept which will take the form of a Coupe-style electric SUV in 2024. The company has recently trademarked two new names- Curvv and Sliq, of which Curvv has already been globally unveiled. So, it could either be expected that the new Tata electric car could be called Tata Sliq (Nexon long-range EV). We are even left with an open area to speculate that the production version of the Altroz EV could be unveiled or the long-range version of the Nexon EV is the next debut in India for which the testing is already going on.
To keep the excitement going they have now teased a new electric car debut for 29th April 2022 without giving out any specific details regarding the launch of this upcoming EV. show all we have left with a place to guess that model could be an upcoming Altroz EV or the larger version of Nexon EV.
Tata Altroz EV- Expected Specs & Features
The pre-production concept of the Altroz EV has been showcased at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, which was also displayed at the 2020 Auto Expo, and it turned out to be one of the most eye-grabbing models.
Altroz EV flaunted the same exterior design as the regular ICE Altroz, highlights, and its exterior and interior along with different alloy wheels. we do not expect to see the production version as any different.
Tata Motors has remained tight-lipped about the battery and power train details and so the specifications of Altroz EV are still a mystery, but we sure do expect the premium hatchback to feature Ziptron powertrain technology as in Nexon EV and Tigor EV.
Altroz EV Could be off 4 with fast charging capability which will allow to charge from 0 to 80% in just 60 minutes and driving range of at least 300 km. As per the features, it will be listed with standard Altroz likes, such as a 7-inch touch screen infotainment system, cruise control, or semi-digital instrument cluster, ambient lighting, and connected contact.
Nexon Long-range EV (Sliq) – Details
After the success of Tata Nexon EV, the company is now aiming for a longer-range version with Tata Nexon Longe-range EV Sliq). Our next assumption for the possibility of a debut from Tata on 29th April 2022 is the updated iteration of Nexon EV featuring a larger battery pack (40kWh).
The larger battery pack will result in a higher estimated range of around 400-450 km, which in the real world should translate to about 300 km on a single charge. It will also come with a more powerful 6.6 kW AC charger.
A stronger possibility of its debut is the fact that many test mules of this EV have been spied on multiple occasions in recent times.
Spy shots have revealed that the exterior design of the 2022 Nexon EV is expected to remain unaltered except that it will now boast disc brakes on the rear wheels, suggesting a boost in its power output which could be the result of a stronger motor. However, with the hush-hush, not much is known, and the specific details can be confirmed only when the EV is officially unveiled.
As per the features we expect plenty of editions like ventilated front seats auto-dimming IRVM, adjustive regenerative braking, cruise control, ESC, park mode, etc.
