The historic British brand MG is best remembered for spritely roadsters of the 20th century, although today it sells a lineup of crossovers and sedans. With striking concepts and features, the all-electric MG Cyberster Roadster concept was unveiled at the Shanghai Motor Show on April 21, 2021, foreshadowing its return to those roadster roots. Soon after the official renderings, MG has shown what it actually looks like. Strikingly amazing, isn’t it?
As we know, the new concept is called Cyberster. With the first photos revealed it looks like a very futuristic machine straight out of a space-age movie. Oh! Behold, looks aren’t the only striking feature here. It is the first electric super sports car to boast of a gaming pit. Before introducing you to the details of this beauty, let’s get you to know that MG has already announced that Cyberster will get into production soon.
MG Cyberster Roadster has stunning looks with modern design characteristics given by MG Advanced Design Centre in London. The 2-door, 2-seater roadster with battery-electric power has an open top, 5G connectivity, 0-62mph in under 3 seconds time claiming a range of up to 500 miles. This electric-age car has an extremely wide front grille serving as an air duct to ensure airflow over the car’s chassis. with the body designed to enhance the aerodynamic performance.
The enormous diffuser which is partially illuminated is further aided by the car’s airflow characteristics. The brand draws a number of styling cues from the classic MGB Roadster like the classic round headlights, coupled nicely sloping hood that has interactive “Magic Eye” headlights that open when switched on.
Other striking features include huge wheels, a lase belt LED strip, LED tail lamps, and a lot of crisp character lines adding to the masculinity of the car. When we look at the rear section of the car, the Cyberster features a flattened rear end with a flattened tail. the rear spoiler help improves the car’s aerodynamics and has an LED light design to enhance its rear look.
The inside of the car is even more future-gazing adopting a driver-centric layout with a large digital display that sits behind the flattened U-shaped multifunction steering. The driver and passenger are separated by the interactive gaming cockpit and gives the former multiple screens and a gamepad-style steering wheel. It also incorporates a large central instrument display on either side from camera-based digital rear-view mirrors.
The company also announced that MG Cyberster Roadster has a pair of zero-gravity sports seats with floating head restraints. These seats have Alcantara and premium leather and provide strong back support to the driver from all angles. With a completely digital instrument cluster on the steering wheel, it looks pretty futuristic. The screen ahead of the driver presents all of the important vehicle information in a minimalist style.

A completely different drivetrain is certain to be used in Cyberster to MG’s production vehicles. It shall potentially inherit the same twin-motor four-wheel-drive system from the E-Motion concept, along with its modular electric vehicle platform.
