Too many news and updates coming that Mahindra is going to discontinue XUV500 and bringing all new Mahindra XUV700 instead to rival big boys like Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, Honda CR-V, Skoda Kodiaq, etc. What do you think, is it true that Mahindra really has decided to take this risk and why? I don’t think so, let’s read more to know why?
Well, this is not a good business model to completely discontinue a product serving a specific category and has history of high sale records. The model who attracted more buyers and fans around the world.
That’s all the rumors spreading to attract more and more traffic to their website!
Mahinda had introduced XUV500 way back in 2011 to serve mid premium segment. Then in 2019 it filled the gap by launching XUV300 for their beloved customers, who had dream to buy a Mahindra’s macho SUV but they weren’t capable to really afford a big SUV that Mahindra always built.
Now Mahindra is ready to launch it’s new and more premium model XUV700 for their customers, who were waiting to buy even bigger and more premium SUV than XUV500. Where unfortunately launch of Mahindra Alturas wasn’t attracted more buyers neither made so happy. So, in this case new XUV700 actually going to replace Alturas.
If we see spy pictures and rendered images, then it is clearly visible that design is still inspired by and identical to Alturas.
Because, everyone is talking about it and saying it is gonna have more powerful engine, big in size, more premium than XUV500 and it’s name has 700 now. See the gap between XUV300 and XUV500. So, according to this math XUV500 and XUV700 will have same distance in features and power.
Ok, If Mahindra is not discontinuing XUV500, then what XUV700 is going to offer?
Again, it’s my guess that XUV700 either come with hybrid technology which will offer higher uses of electric motors with traditional engine or it will be completely electric vehicle or will offer a separate model which will be only electric vehicle.
Mahindra might have planned to discontinue Alturas and replace it with new XUV700.

Why we think so?
Because I saw that in the logo of XU700, where 700 dressed in blue color. It means this vehicle is powered by electric motors, and the future is of electric vehicles. And it’s Mahindra who has already announced to launch electric versions of their existing models such as XUV300 and KUV100. Everyone is talking about electric vehicles these days and competitors already has launched their EV models in market and selling well.
Although, Indian government is promoting electric vehicles by offering huge discount on purchase of electric vehicles and running Go Electric Campaign. Also Hon. Nitin Gadkari, Minister of transport made some good statements in regards to the campaign agenda. He told, “Electric vehicles should be made mandatory for all government officials”. With his perspective of “Go Electric”, he urged Power Minister RK Singh to make electric cars mandatory in his department.
So, two new XUV is coming?
Definitely yes, after launch of XUV700, we will have three different models to choose. Which will be
KUV100, XUV300, XUV500 and XUV700. Which will attract all type of buyers depending on their budget.
Mahindra XUV500 has fair sale record. So, XUV300 also break the sale record of all Mahindra vehicles. Now it’s time of XUV700. We will see how this model will perform in Indian market and how many buyers going to attract. It all depends on it’s futuristic design, price, modern features and dimension.
Any idea about features and price of XUV700?
If talking about idea, then it’s just a guess based on previous data and it’s rivals. That it will definitely come with tons of modern features such as 10 inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple Car Play, 5G connectivity, many safety features, sunroof, hybrid etc. For full list if features and price subscribe to our Newsletter and push notification.
