Bajaj V15 crossed 1 lakh unit sale in just 3 months

Bajaj V15, the motorcycle made of INS Vikrant‘s scrap metal, recently accomplished 1 lakh sale milestone.

The 1 lakh number was achieved by Bajaj in just 120 days since the deliveries of the premium commuter motorcycle began in the country. 1,00,000 units in 120 days, results 833.33 units per day! This unit can go beyond this unit but has been limited due to production capacity of 25,000 units per month!

INS Vikrant, the ship was going to be reduced to scrap after which Bajaj Auto purchased its metal and developed a motorcycle from it in order to protect the legacy of India’s first aircraft carrier.

The bike also gained popularity as Bollywood actor Aamir Khan also owns a customised example of the Bajaj V15. Gifted by Rajiv Bajaj.

Since its launch earlier this year, the demand of the Bajaj V15 was overwhelming in spite of producing only 25,000 units a month. But as per the plan the company has now decided to boost up the production from September.

The motorcycle is available at a price of Rs. 62,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Bajaj V15 comes powered by a 149.5cc, single-cylinder engine, which has a five-speed transmission. The engine churns out a maximum power of 11.83 bhp with a peak torque of 13 Nm. It has a rugged cruiser classic styling and also has a signature ‘V’ insignia on the fuel tank, first of its type LED fuel gauge. The major highlight also is the removable rear body cowl.

Mr Eric Vas, President (Motorcycle Sales), Bajaj Auto Ltd in a media report said, “The invincible V was launched with the intent of giving a piece of history to every Indian. We are thrilled with the overwhelming response from the Indian customers. We are ramping up the production by September as we are very positive that these numbers will only continue to grow and sustain the Bajaj V as one of the best-selling premium commuter motorcycles in the country.”
