MG Astor has been unveiled in the Indian market. MG Astor will get many awesome features in fact some of the first in segment features that are not available on others in its class. Astor is primed to take things to the next level. Features packed new MG car will compete against Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos in India.
Design & Style
The new MG Motor car is quite different from the ZS EV, It has a ‘celestial’ grille, new LED headlights & LED Taillights restyled front bumper. Riding on 17-inch alloy wheels with spicy red calipers specific to the turbo version. And twin faux exhaust exits built into the rear bumper. Overall MG Astor looks quite impressive. New MG Astor is longer, taller, and wider than Hyundai Creta, KIA Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, and the upcoming Volkswagen Taigun.
Interior & Features
MG Astor comes with premium interiors, Inside the car feels high-quality, soft-touch premium material. The dashboard is borrowed from ZS EV but it features a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster. Interior space is reasonably good for both front and rear passengers. In terms of equipment.

Inside the Astor, Said to be powered by artificial intelligence(AI), the little robot mounted on the dashboard. it is activated by a simple ‘Hello Asor’ prompt (Just like OK Google). In addition to executing basic vehicle functions such as opening/closing the sunroof or windows, the assistant can also transmit information on practically any topic by tapping into Wikipedia.
New MG Astor is loaded – automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, six-way power adjustment for the driver’s seat, heated ORVMs, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, air purifier, electric parking brake, automatic wipers, front and rear armrests, rear AC vents and over 80 connected car features, including an app-based ‘Digital Key’. The safety kit includes six airbags, electronic stability control, traction control, and hill descent control.
Engine & Transmission
MG Astor is powered by a 1.5-liter, four-cylinder petrol engine that produces max power of 110 hp and a peak torque of 144 Nm. Available with either a five-speed manual or an eight-step CVT automatic transmission. And a 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine that delivers 140 hp of max power and 220 Nm of peak torque. Available with only a six-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
Price, Launch & Availability
It is expected to be launch in October and MG Astor price in India could be between Rs 10-17 lakh (ex-showroom), which competes against Creta, Seltos, Kushaq and Taigun. Overall, Astor looks like a promising entry into the segment with Inda’s first AI inside into the segment.
