2021 Mahindra XUV500 Interior Revealed

Mahindra’s XUV500 was 1st launched in our nation back in the year 2011. Now, almost 10 years later, the company is planning to introduce its next-gen version. The next-generation upcoming Mahindra XUV500 has been spotted several times on-road tests. Plenty of details are now available about the upcoming SUV through various spy photographs.

We recently go through a new spy shot. It gives us a clear look at the interior of the next-generation Mahindra’s XUV500. We already know that the XUV500 will get a dual-screen setup, resembling the one we see on Mercedes-Benz models. The setup includes a large touchscreen infotainment system and a fully-digital instrument console, placed in a joint housing.

Other than that, the new-generation interior of XUV500 also bears a small resemblance to BMW X1. The placement of the music system controller near the gear lever, the AC vents below the infotainment screen, and the dual-zone climate control panel with physical controls placed below it remind us a little of the BMW crossover. These details don’t seem to be inclining towards the driver.

The dashboard of the 2021 upcoming Mahindra XUV500 comes with leather-wrap, while the inside door panels have a wood finish. The door locks and door handles look like metal and have superbly stylish. The controls for the power-adjustable front seats on the door trim will have a memory function as well. The leather-wrapped steering wheel has integrated controls for cruise and audio control, and the start/ stop button will be placed near the centre AC vents.

The Mahindra XUV500 can come with new equipment like Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, keyless entry with push-button start, and possibly level-1 autonomous driving technology. We can see safety features such as tyre pressure monitor, electronic stability control, parking sensors with camera, and ABS with EBD.

There is also a leather-wrapped centre armrest present for the front 2-row seats. Other features that can be included in the XUV500 are 7 airbags, an electronic parking brake and a panoramic sunroof. By recent reports, Mahindra’s XUV500 will also have level-1 autonomous driving aids, and automatic emergency brake, etc.

Also, the XUV500 may be available in both 6-seat and 7-seat configurations, with the former offering captain seats in the middle row. If we talk about the powertrains, we expect the next-generation Mahindra’s XUV500 to be available with the same engine options as the Mahindra’s Thar – a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel and a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol – but tuned for generating power output. Both these engines may come with torque convertor automatic and 6-speed manual transmissions. We can also see a wheel drivetrain in brand new XUV.

Considering all the premium features and updates, we guess that the new Mahindra XUV500 will be priced from Rs. 14 lacs (ex-showroom). It will lock horns with the upcoming Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari, and MG Hector Plus.
